Bauchi Takes Lead in Diabetes Fight: World Diabetes Day Launch and Inauguration of Officials in Dambam LGA

Saturday, November 16, 2024, marked a significant milestone in Bauchi State's fight against diabetes as the World Diabetes Day Bauchi State Chapter was launched in Dambam. 


The event, held at the Musa Suleiman Town Hall Complex, saw the swearing-in of officials from Dambam Local Government Area by Barrister Idiriss Mohammed.


The initiative was first introduced by Dr. Alkali Mohammed, former chairman of the forum, who donated 12 testing machines to the LGA. 


Building on this momentum, Executive Chairman of Dambam Local Government Council, Yakubu Garba Tela, provided free drugs and food items to diabetes patients after free testing.


Bauchi State Government was represented by Commissioner for Health, Dr. Sani Mohammed, who emphasized the state's commitment to combating diabetes. 


Hajia Uwa Shehu, Chairperson of the Bauchi State Chapter, also graced the occasion, while District Head of Dambam, Alh. Idiris Bappa Musa, represented the Misau Emirate Council.


The launch and inauguration ceremony demonstrated Bauchi State's dedication to addressing diabetes and promoting healthcare.
