BAUCHI STATE GOVERNMENT HOUSE PRESS RELEASE


APPOINTMENT OF NEW SECRETARY TO THE STATE GOVERNMENT ( SSG ) AND PRINCIPAL PRIVATE SECRETARY ( PPS ) TO THE GOVERNOR 


His Excellency, Sen. Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed CON ,Fnipr ( Kauran Daular Usmaniyya ) the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, has approved the appointment of Alh. Aminu Hammayo as the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and Alhaji Hashimu Kumbala as Principal Private Secretary (PPS) to the Governor.


These appointments reflect Governor Bala Mohammed's commitment to effective governance and his vision for a more inclusive and progressive administration.


Alh . Aminu Hammayo , a seasoned administrator and public servant , has served Bauchi State with distinction in various capacities, earning a reputation for excellence, diligence, and unwavering dedication to public service. He was a one time Secretary to the State Government and until his new appointment he was the Hon. Commissioner Budget and Multi lateral coordination, Bauchi State .


Alh.Hashimu Kumbala, an experienced administrator will serve as the Principal Private Secretary to the Governor. In this capacity, he will provide critical administrative and advisory support to the Governor , ensuring effective communication and coordination within the government. He was a retired permanent secretary and until his new appointment he was the Special Adviser to the Governor on General Service.


The new appointees will be sworn in today , Friday 27th December, 2024 at the Executive Council Chamber , Government House ,Bauchi by 12noon.

  THE COALITION OF NORTHERN GROUPS (CNG) HAS COMMENDED THE NIGERIAN GOVERNORS' FORUM (NGF) FOR CHAMPIONING A MORE EQUITABLE VALUE ADDED TAX (VAT) SHARING FORMULA. THE REVISED FORMULA, WHICH ALLOCATES 50% BASED ON EQUALITY, 30% ON DERIVATION, AND 20% ON POPULATION, IS A SIGNIFICANT DEPARTURE FROM THE EARLIER LOPSIDED FORMULA. SPEAKING AT A PRESS BRIEFING IN BAUCHI STATE, THE CNG EXPRESSED ITS SUPPORT FOR THE REVISED VAT SHARING FORMULA, CITING ITS POTENTIAL TO PROMOTE ECONOMIC FAIRNESS AND EQUALITY AMONG NIGERIAN STATES.
