Governor Bala Mohammed Bags a fellowship for Risk Managers Society of Nigeria (RAMSON)


The governor was awarded the fellowship of the risk managers society of Nigeria. The event took place in Lagos at Radisson Hotel Ikeja. The governor who also serves as a special guest of honour and chief launcher for the 40th anniversary compendium and investiture of the new leadership of the society..


In his remarks, the executive governor, ably represented by Mahmud Mohammed Bose, the Director General of the Bauchi State Environmental Protection Agency (BASEPA) expressed appreciation to the association for finding him worthy of this prestigious award of fellowship, which is the highest ranking membership in the society. 


The DG shared with the participants some of the efforts made by the state in risk management, which include a policy framework for risk management (Bauchi State Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Framework). He also calls on the risk management society to be proactive in creating awareness and sensitization in managing climate and economic risk in the country. He further expressed the Bauchi state government's readiness to leverage on the centre for risk management development (CRMD), reiterating the commitments of Governor Bala Mohammed's administration in state in terms of capacity building and awarenes campaign. 


There was also a transition of leadership at the ceremony as the past president of RIMSON GUS Wiggle handed over the mantle of leadership to Dr. Abbas Idriss, as the new president. In his acceptance speech, the president pledged to build on the solid foundation laid by the founding fathers in taking the society to lofty heights. He called for support to ensure the set goals and objectives of the society were fully achieved.
